electric problem

hello all again
now when i turn the left indicator on it makes the rear light flash also
but when i put the hazards on it stops it doing that and goes back to normal. this happened since i had a boot leak and check t see where it was when i took the rear cluster off it had water in the cluster so changed the bulb holding thing for the right hand side one i think it may have corroded the wire connections to that cluster is there a way of taking the wiring out of the black connector and clening them up. cheers in advance

fold the plastic on the connector off and you will see the spade terminals

so they can come out without braking them then chris and do you thing if i clean them up it should solve the problem

yes they can come out, fold the back down and have a look, to remove the seperate terminal ou need a small screwdriver to lever the tag up and out.

sounds like an earth fault to me, what car is it?

r19 16v it only started after the water in the cluster but sometimes i have to slam the boot down so maybe the earth inthere has come loose

earths are under the clusters inside, 10mm bolts.

cheers mate i check that out thursday on me day off while im changing the earth strap on the gearbox. i notic on one of your tech article about add a earth from the battery to the bulk head where the one from the engine goes is that right as i may do that as well
