So just before I began replacing the rear mount, I noticed the car was becoming slow to turn over at start, this was on the Saturday before I'd even gone near the car, just so you know it was before I gone anywhere near the starter mota area/rear mount.

I have checked all the cables around this area, the little spade is on the celeniod, and all the other biggererddddddddd cable are on and tight around starter mota.

So i figured battery, which is only 6 months old, and is slightly bigger for extra ampage.

got a charger, charger reckons it's charged after like 2 hours.

I go to start her and it's slow to turn over, if i stop it and try again even slower to turn over. I got back from pickin the missus up this afternoon, and stopped at home, immediately tried to start it agan to see if the car had charged it at all, was about 14mile run. and absolutely dead...wtf..!!

Also as a note, no the battery light is not on, and i replaced the bushes in the alternator with new ones about 4 months back, as they wore out on the motorway finally.

Anyone shed any light on this perhaps?

sort your earths out would be a good start... need a good chunky connection from the battery negative to the shell and the engine.

they are well chunky and solid, oh and the heat shield is there, in case you ask Smile

Could possibly take the earths off and clean up the contact surfaces with a file. Out of interest where did you managed to buy bushes for your alt?

Got the bushes out of the Alternator that was originaly on the williams that i bought, it only had 50K, I say new because judging by the length of them they were hardly used.

I will check the earths again tomorrow and give them a clean off just incase.

Took the battery tops off, cleaned then put them back on tight, solid, no difference, checked the earths, they haven't moved and are perfect.

I'm thinking the connection on the starter mota, but shit, I gotta get my hand back up in the ferking gap, where you couldn't swing an ant. FROM UNDERNEATH AGAIN, Think I might drop the downpipe again, Oh Dogshit!!

after spending a few days running the car, and thinking about the problem, turns out the battery was shagged after just 1yr!

Got it replaced under warranty Smile

Rare but i love it when the job is that easy
