To tie in with my other post, the car also failed on emissions. The lambda reading at fast idle was 1.06 (tolerance between 0.97 - 1.03 for a pass), and CO level was 0.50% (max allowed is 0.30%).

The guy wanted to book it in but I said I'd fix it...he said it could be the sensor, or the cat, or both. There is also a small leak on the rear section where it comes in two parts and you have to clamp one part inside the other. Would this affect the readings?

Best way to go I'm thinking is...replace the lambda and fix the leak, then go for a retest. Is there a way of finding out if the cat / lambda is fooked before replacing?

Cheers

fix the leak and thrash the car.

he wanted to book it in cos its an easy fix which he can massively profit from.
