Today I pulled the head off the car. It really signifies the end of the chammy as I have had it for 6 years now.

I am returning it to a standard spec to sell it.

The head I pulled off is a Williams one, so I am going to clean it up and get it on ebay.

As suspected, I reckon its a blocked oilway causing the bad tapping when cold, as there was no oil pooled around the exhaust cam area. inlet had lots of oil pooled in the usual places...so there we are.

Cams are regrinds which I will be selling seperately. Its a bit sad to be doing this but its got to be done...I am skintos and also if I don't get rid of the thing I will NEVER finish the bloody hatch!

like I said before it will be a bit of old oil filter stuck in an oilway.

When you put the stock head on it will be quieter and go better and you won't want to get rid!

But best for it to go now.

shitty weather here too...was removing the head in the rain...wasnt so bad to start with but by the time i finished it was getting very wet...and when i went to lift the head i had forgotten that third bolt from the zorst manifold to starter brkt...bastid! had to get on my back in a big puddle to get it off.

dunno if i will be making the fcs either. i want to, but if i dont have the money then i simply wont be.

just a quick question, did the williams head make a difference to the cars performance.

at least you still got a hatch so its still all good.

was that beacuse you had the up rated cams fitted at the same time.
are the regrind cams originally from a 19 16v, if so when they going on sale

no when i first fitted it was running the willy cams.

adding the regrinds just helped a bit more but that was later.

the regrinds are 2.0 spec.

im thinking about it not sure whether to sell them yet. prolly will tho.

no of course they're not...why would you buy different cams if the lift and duration were the same?

you would not. dont know how to write what i want to say, doh.

are you not better off fitting fast road cams to the 1.8 16v that were meant for it rather than one mean for the 2litre

or are the ones for the 2 litre more aggressive

the 2.0 is slightly more aggressive. no issues with using them at all.
