Ever since I fitted my current exhaust to my car I always seem to have a bit of a rattle from the exhaust. The thing is though that when you put your foot down the exhaust always catches on the heatshield by the CAT. I'm now wondering if this is due to a dodgy engine mount. The reason I am starting to thinkn this is that if I refit all the exhaust rubber mounts properly the rattling stops until you really out your foot down and the rattling then starts again as the exhaust pushes one of the rubber mounts slightly out of place.

I took a quick video of the engine when revving it to about 4k RPM earlier on. I don't know if that is any use but should there be that much movement of the engine?

Thanks.

cheers chris - should the engine not be moving as much as in the video then?

I'll go and browse my haynes to see hoe bad a job it it. The dog bone mount is the one at the back of the gearbox isn't it?

thanks, I'm just trying to fix all the wee niggles with the car at the moment as I'll be finished lectures at uni in a couple of weeks so I'll finally have time to sort things out and then hopefully sell up for something a bit better.

Last thing to check. Is it the part circled in the picture below?

Also, where would be the cheapest place to get one?

Thanks.
