Alright everyone
I ve got a problem with my phase 1 valver it goes something like this...driving down the road no problems then stopped at some traffic lights,went to pull off but there was no power on acceleration.It went but no where near as quick as i wanted it to.
I pulled over then the car just died wouldnt start ..I got a tow home and had a look, i could hear the fuel pump workin fine so i gave her a flick of the key and it started, however when i gave her a rev she just cut out.
Now this is the problem, i had a look again today she started fine, the thing is at a certain point on the revs it sounds nasty almost if theres something loose inside the engine after hearin this noise i switch the car off...Now it chooses when it wants to fire up and when it wants to die, i'am not great when it comes to fixing cars so i would be thankful for some advice on solvin this problem...(oh yeah great site this is my first post hope it gets a reply LOL) |

have u checked for water in the plug wells? this will cause a mis fire and major lack of power.
where abouts in glos r u? i live in abbeymead

i had the same prob a few weeks back, i was driving fine stopped to turn into another road and the just died on me so i rolled her onto the pavement and i was stuck the for around an hour or so
what i did in the end was to take the breather pip of the air box and try to start it and when i got her started i reved really hard and quickly put my hole hand over the air box which sucked in a load of fuel and then the car died again from a lack of air but after that she started fine and run better than ever so there must have been somthing blocked somewere |

It almost sounds the same problem...the pipe from the air box is split which could explain a blockage but it doesnt really explain the funny rattling noise(almost like no oil diff not the tappets) could something be damage inside the head...still i ll give it a go and see what happens thanks |
