Hello,
This is my first post ,i am hoping somebody can help me.
First of all i have a 1996 renault espace, the car only came with one plip key working.i need two remote plips for my car.so i bought a plip reciever and two remotes from ebay,i swopped the reciever over in the car but the two remotes wont do anything.the two remotes are from a older renault, they dont have the keys built into then.
Is there anybody out there that knows if this older reciever should work in my espace ok ?
Regards Pete

can you get a pic of the plip board?

is the board on it green or brown?

If its green then its immob code doubt it will be roliing. But you might not get the new keys to match it.

if its rollign then it won't plip or start.

The board is green on the espace but the board brown on the one from ebay.does this mean it should still work ?

no it won't work. If you pop the boards out you wuill see the green one has a lot less parts on it. You need to use the green one.

Ok thanks for the info.

is it only the green board programmed to the ECU ?

Is there any other place other than renault i can get my second key recoded ? the person who had the car before never changed the batteries when they went flat.

well if its a green board new batteries on a 96 will allo wit to just work again.

If its a rollign code which it shouldnl't be you can just reprogram the other key to work again.

it needs to be reprogrammed to the ECU.

We have now deduced its a rollign code set up.

I done a knowledge base article on it but you don;t have access. But basically you need to go to renault to get your code (its free) and then enter it and then plip away with the 1st key then the 2nd and it will work again.

Do have to go to renault and take your docs for the car ? can you go to any renault dealer ?

How do you enter the code with the plips ? do you have to press it so many times according to your code ?

go to ren with the v5, they may try and charge you make a scene and loudly ask if renault uk would condone the theft taking place by that franchise.

Any dealer yes.

You use the central locking button to enter the code, its a 4 digit code.

OK will try to get to my nearest renault dealer about 15 miles away soon.

Is there a certain way you have to use the central locking button and the plips to put the code in.

sorry if i am going on,its all new to me.
