Right, who wants to fit my exhaust for me!? £1,000 if you can fit it and it doesn't rattle or knock ANYWHERE lol. If I have to go near a fuckin exhaust again, I will be mentally damaged for life. I am sick of the fuckin things god damnit. I've spend most of my life underneath my car trying to stop exhausts rattling / knocking and am just about bored of it. Are exhausts notoriously hard to fit right on these cars? Or am I just incapable??

Well anyway, because of my complete boredom of jacking up my car and crawling around underneath it struggling to pull exhausts off and fit new ones whilst crippling myself on the hard concrete floor etc........I decided to put me car in a garage and let them do the work. They can put the car up on a lift etc, much easier for them. So, my mongoose system needed to come off (cuz it's broke and I'm sending it back to them for a refund), and my new exhaust needed to go on, so I put it in the garage thinking that it can't be that hard and surely they'd do it okay.

.....Well I might aswell of asked my mum to do it........with her eyes closed! Not only was it blowing on ALL of the 3 joins, but it also looked like this........

Image

....which me & a mate decided after much discussion that it looks rediculous!! I mentioned to the garage that the tail pipe looked rather long to me and could they try and fit it so it was sticking out as little as possible. They obviously understood that as "make it stick out as much as possible" Rolling Eyes doh. In all fairness it was a pretty long tailpipe, but still. Me & a mate moved joins around etc earlier, and sorted out the length of it so it now looks lush (too dark to take a pic now, will do it tomorrow), and also stopped it blowing Very Happy BUT..........it now knocks at just about every possible place on the the fuckin car! It was the starting to get dark.....and annoying..... and.....grrrrr...... Evil or Very Mad ......so we've just left it now. Can't be fuckin arsed anymore, it's driving me mad. I don't wanna take it to a garage and ask 'em to solve it cuz I'm starting to get the impression that garages = retards. They're like "uumm....yeah...err....sorry mate it's not a fiesta, I don't understand". Like for fuck sake. Need someone who knows about these cars. I'm just gonna have to have another look tomorrow night in the light. I am just fed up of constant problems with it tho. The thought of having to jack that fuckin car up again and crawl around underneath it trying to twist exhaust into right place etc nearly brings me to tears!!! ahhhh!!

Okay, rant over Very Happy

.......for now anyway! Razz

Chris, you think it was a chamade back box? If you'd said that before I fitted it, it would've helped slightly. I did ask in another post if anyone thought it was a chamade pipe or if it was just a hatch one that's a bit longer and is gonna stick out, and your answer was "hmm yeah it'll poke out a bit" so why didn't you say you thought it was a chamade one! I could've done something about it then Rolling Eyes

Right, well I asked what the difference in length was and nobody seemed to know, and then I've obviously miss-understood you somewhere along the line. I did read a post about someone putting a hatch exhaust on a chamade to get it through the MOT and you said it wouldn't do it because an exhaust that was JUST behind the bumper might be okay, but not 6 to 8 inches. So I assumed that meant the hatch exhaust was 6 to 8 inches shorter than the chamade.........which if you reverse that, means the chamde exhaust is 6 to 8 inches longer than the hatch, and there's nowhere near THAT much difference with my exhaust. Just looked a slight bit too long.

So I've completely miss understood you really. Doh

well its fucking obvious isn't it!

you have 2 back boxes beside each other you have a notion its a chamade backbox, you have a hatch backbox right beside it so its clear that its longer. Wtf do you expect to happen? the chamade back box shrink when its fitted to a hatch?

i am sorry for the stupidity of everyone else, in the future I'll explain every fuckign thing even when a normally developed 3 year olds intelligence woudl tell you its the wrong thing!

No it fuckin wasn't. Not to me, hence why I asked the soddin question. It's slightly longer, not massively longer. I am not fortunate enough to know everything like you. I am stupid, hence why I ask questions on here. Sorry, but I thought that was the whole idea of this site y'know. My mongoose exhaust is about 30mm longer than the standard renault exhaust, and the new exhaust was about 60mm longer than the standard one. So if you do the maths, my new exhaust was a massive 30mm longer than the old mongoose. Now to me, the fact that a saloon version of a car is only 30mm longer than the hatchback version is just.....well.....stupid. I dunno. Maybe it's an optical illusion and the fact that it has a massive boot on the back adds no length to the car.

I obviously understand the fact that you think I'm stupid for not noticing but I just do not have your knowledge. Never owned a chamade. I've owned one R19 in my life, not 874 like most of you lot. So I got nothing to compare to.

Yeah, I agree. Cuz the front section is all one piece so you just bolt it onto the cat (or de-cat) and that's it job done........there are 2 hangers at the back of the front section just before the bend, rather than the 1 that the mongoose and this one have had. So no twisting of joins, arsing about trying to get it to fit etc......it just fits!! Why can't they make frikkin aftermarket systems like that. Two sections.......stick 'em on.......job done

Mongoose and this new one have both been 4 sections. Like what is the point!? Just to make them easier to send to people cuz they can fit in smaller packages when they are in more pieces?

Image

Like will somebody tell me the point in that little pissy frikkin bit at the bottom of the pic??!! Why not just have that on the end of the main section!? If that was the case, then it would be SO much easier to fit cuz you wouldn't have to adjust the angle of that join cuz it would be one piece like Rolling Eyes
