just advise p2 1.4 expansion bottle had a couple of airline cracks enough to lose water n reg is this a common fault cracks from the seam join just thought id let u all know to check yours under pressure/when hot.
also anyone run gtd oil in a petrol engine been told of a 300000 mile pug 405 run on diesiel gtd no probs would like to try it in 1.4 energy any thoughts?

my 16V expansion bottle is showing cracks, its about 5 years old at most. Thing is the 15 year old ones Ihave and use have bno signs of cracks!

Its not common but its not an unknown fault. If it shows signs be ready to replace it.

Why bother putting diesel oil in the 1.4? Why pay castrol prices unless your getting a 40 gallon drum.

What oil are you currently using?

i use gtx 15/40 cant seem to get it now only piss water 10/40 being unemployed im still reluctent to use cheap oil ps phase 1 better thenp2 my mates n reg door bottom rusted through drivers sill rusty patches not as good as phase i cheers for reply chris

I use 10W40, even ran the 206k mile 1.4 on 5W30 for a while, never had any problems.

They were semi/full synth oils.

Comma lite semi synth 10W40 is what I use the most and its very good. 8 quid for 5 litres and comma is a good make.
