i need to get some internals i hopfully have got some pistons sorted (or waiting) now i need everything else bar the crank (unsure still what to do?)

should i use standard parts or is there a good company that will suply all parts stronger and lighter (or just stronger) i dont mind paying a little over the odds (as most of you would think it was) as i want it to be a relible fast road car, this one is prob one for to you enlighten me with chet

Ok lets break this down:

You don't mind paying over the odds for stronger bits? Lets call over the odds 15%?

You can buy a complete F7P for £50. £50+15%= £57.50. I don't think you'll get many stronger bits for that Laughing

But seriously. Rods can be got for 500uk£ easily. 200 if you don't mind waiting and have all the dims to hand. Pistons are 400 or again, 250 if you can wait and have your own designed.

Rod bolts are about 50 quid. I think you can get a steel crank for 1200ish

And one more thing, standard bits have been proven to last 150k when thrown together by a renault monkey 15 years ago. Everyone blabbers on about lightening this and balancing that but for a standard rebuilt engine its just not necessary

um ok im putting in forged pistons uppin the comp and slapping a T25 or 28 on the beast, not bothered about messng around with trying to shave a fewgrams here and there i just want strong bit to cope with boost and bigger boost

and yes im still going to be using the 1.8

yea so be nice as its my 1st big build + im guessing that when im finished expirementing and more knowledged up then i can re-use most of it on a F7R bottom end

so would standard parts be ok?

Yeah it'll work with the timing retarded by 720 degrees and inlet temps keep below -124 lol

10:1 which is stock is the highest I would go on a road car witgh a turbo, you can ruin 20:1 + on dragsters etc but thats only for a few minutes lifespan.

yea the top fuel dragsters are rebuilt after each run!

Std components will stand upto the abuse, at most if your running some decent boost run forged pistons.

The high bearing loading will be your main problem, renault's sintered ally tin bearings are soft as cheap and crap.
