I'm toying with the idea of a 2.0l conversion for the white hatch as it's doing nothing much at the moment.

I'm leaning towards using a willy lump as it (from what I’m told) is easier than fitting the megane engine. (Electrics and that sort of thing)

This topic has been covered loads of times so I'm not after a full shopping list. I just need an answer on the following.

What exactly are the differences between the wiring on the megane F7R and the willy F7R?

Do both the willy and megane gearboxes have the diff bolted in or are they circlipped?

is the 1.8 16v fuel pump different to the one used for the F7R?

I'm not 100% sure about taking on the task at the moment, so some advice would be helpful guys.

meggy lump is the same bottom end with different head.

Both boxes are circlipped but the JC5 doesnt pop.

hehe another F7R conversion in the making.

one major difference is the price Doc,
you will pay anything up to like £1000 for the willy lump, the megane lump sells for a lot less, and now is the time to get one i would imagine as the clio boys are now turning to the megane F7R as well.

Well with the white one bottom end away it's a choice of fix it or convert it to a 2.0L.

As I said, I'm toying with the Idea as I'm not 100% sure as to how much work is realy involved.

the only major thing you need to do to whack the megane one in rather than the williams one is get the head machined to run the dissy.

Otherwise it's basically the same job. A few other little things to do but nothing to worry about.

The megane engine is the better one.

1.9 diesel lump for 20 quid, 50 quid to stan for his old pistons, 60 quid for a dremel

Yea i know, LOL

As far as I'm aware You can lighten and balance the bottom end but after that I run out of Ideas on how to get more power out of it?

It's obviously not something I can do in the shed myself either so what sort of price is that work likely to cost?

well youre also going to need new rings, shells etc., the lot to do it your way.

if youre just modding the megane head for the dissy and dropping it in, you dont need any of that, just a new head gasket, therefore it is much cheaper.

I've been told that new Willy boxes have the diff bolted in (see Williamsclio site)

He means use the Dremel to grind away the inside of the crankcase to clear the longer throw crank Dan!
