Well

I have plan to do an engine swap on my megane Ph1.
But I can`t find F7R-710 engine, so I am asking you can you tell me difference between this two engines.

1) Difficult of swap?
2) How much does con rod from F7R or F4R can handle?
3)Tunning potencial?
4)Gearbox?

....

All the useful information .....

Thank you

The F7R and F4R are totally different. F4R wil be a LOT more work to fit in your megane. New wiring, ECU, exhaust manifold and so on

For manifold there is no problem because my mate will make it Wink

New wiring? If I put F7R in, can I use wiring from 1.6e engine?
How can I buypass the engine start blockade?

How much HP and rews does con rods and pistons from F7R handle?

What now? Will or will not?

I asked if I can use wiring from 1.6 because Neal said that if I put 172 in I will need new wiring, ECU. As I know if I put F7R in I will need 2.0 ECU, wiring, manifold .... Same as if I put 172 engine.

I still don`t know how to bypass the engine start blockade?
Do I need comp behind the fusebox?

How much power can handle stock con rods and pistons?

I hope I don`t bother too much Cool

well BenR has said that the standard F7 con rods are suitable to use when turboing the F4r, so they are rather strong.

When buying used engine what should I look for if engine is out of the car?

Is there any way to see that engine is in good condition?

Yeah but the difference is, you can just get the right F7R loom out of a megane and it will fit straight into yours with the engine, as will the exhaust etc.

A 172 loom etc. obviously will not fit straight into yours, not by a long shot.

Because finding a F7R in Slovenija is like winning a lottery I am thinking now to swap with F7P (1.8 16v)

Will this engine fit in megane?
Will I have to make custom engine mounts?
How about the loom and ECU?
Do I have to change suspension?
Will megane axles fit on F7P?
How about speedo and other dials? Do I have to change it? Or can I use dashboard from megane?

Tnx for info

Well if your going for a F7P. then your best to get a clio that been rear ended. the F7R's meg's use the same sort of hanging mount set-up, like the clio's.

yes wit will fit its exactly the same as the F7R.

use the existing 1.6 mounts with a 19 16V engine

yep thats gonna be tricky, your going to need to do a fair bit of splicing.

no but be better if you did.

yes as they don't fit on the engine they fit in the gearbox.

megane dash will work fine with it all. If you use a 16V box you need to fit the leccy speedo sendo out of the megane box into it, it just clips in.
