recently you advised me on this issue, well having had the crank sensor replaced which sorted the problem, I now have a similar one.

this time the fuel pump primes but when I turn the key to start, the fuel pump cuts in again but no turning of the beast. Now the immob. was taken out a few years ago except the key bit under the glove box which had a lose wire (now fixed). could this be to do with it?

I left the battery -terminal disconnected for 5 mins and it started but then the next time I went to start it the same happened, only this time the battery trick isnt working? Help if you can, need to go back to work tomorrow!! Dom

Check the little white wire that goes to the top of the starter.
When the key is turned there should be power there.

like I said before I very much doubt it was anything to do with the crank sensor at all.

Anyway sounds like the original fault hasn't been rectified (theres a surprise).

the key immob should only affect the fuel pump so it won't be that.

theres a hold relay which may be up the creek, some daft people on williams clio maintain that its the limiter relay, the fools. this can cause a no crank situation.

but it could be the starter solenoid wire has either broken or iffy contact.
