I have a Renault 19 16V and it has seemed it was like running on 3 cylinders. I pulled the spark plug leads out of the plug holes and noticed rusty coloured water sitting down in the holes. Also the water level is down. Is this a sign of something serious like head gasket gone. There dosnt seem to be any water in the oil as there is no sign of milk. Any advice please.  |

im assuming its a ph1 with the water in the wells,however it could be a core plug that is in there, pull your rocker cover off and see if all of the core plugs that sit near the plugs are intact. |

common problem on the ph1
its misfiring due to water in the plug well, it comes in thru the bonnet vent when it rains and collects over time, give it a good clean down there, then i would suggest also checking your spark plugs, give them a good clean up too and your HT leads, check them for perishing. |

they look nice when equipped with ph1 bumpers
but that would be like buying a non 16v and sticking the F7P lump in there
