Hi Guys n gals,

I've got an F/'89 R19 1.4energy GTS (in Silver)

Every now and then when i go to put my foot down it will have a flat spot. It's really annoying, especially when trying to overtake.

Now, it's got a carb (Webber 32 TLDR) so surly it's something to do with that. (Mixture or something)

I blasted it with Carb cleaner about 3 monthes ago (and belive me, alot of shit came out) so she is clean.

I run a bottle of Redex through it every 5 or 6 tanks fulls of optimax, so it can't be a dirty injector.

Can any one help. I know that the majority of you have 16valvers, but i'm sure you must still know what's goin on.

Cheers guys
Ben

take the carb off and clean it that way.

In other words do it properly. I have photos somewhere and I will do a tech article on it.

But tbh the carb needs a rebuild kit, a thorough clean might get a bit more from it but the carb is filled with springs and diagphrams, a carb rebuild kit is 30 ish quid and supplies all these bits new.

Get in touch with webcon to see you nearest supplier.

Anyway if its more now and then a bit of dirt will be causign the problem as well so take th ecab off the car 4 T 30 long screws then seperate the 2 halves of the cab mindign the gasket if you don't have a new one and then clean it all out.
