YUK!!!

Well cos the 19 is off the road for a little longer and the parents are away for a week or two I'm on the insurance for the Focus to get around and on the insurance for the 350 if the focus doesn't get thru the mot next week (fingers crossed Laughing ) although the 350 would be emegency only I'm sure my brother would take a fist to the face so we could drive to the hospital Laughing

Anyway point is the focus if horrible! I really don't like driving it, the zetec engine holds the revs really high and the handling is far too light through the PAS. You sit too high up and the gearchange is clunky. It's a 1.6 with 15k on the clocks but I prefer my 19 in every way.......go figure. I actually feel like I'm in control of the 19 whereas the focus feels really vague. Part of the problem was my mum let the tyre pressures drop to 20 psi all round then blamed my dad for not checking them for her Rolling Eyes

yep i've toured about in work's 1.6 focus a fair bit, i described it on here a while back exactly as you just did. Feels like youre sitting on the seat rather than in it and controlling the car with a playstation steering wheel and pedals.

Slow as feck as well

Yeah the power band is equal all the way through the revs and shite to boot. Given me more motivation to get the 19 back on the road.

driving my mums 4x4, nearly crashed it cos the steering was so light lol gear changes are nasty, really clunky, gutless, 0-60 is measured on a calender.. i could go on lol, i still prefer the 19 to the 172

I think the worst thing about the car is because it's new if you push it too hard it understeers like a biaitch to make it "safe" for the normal driver (Normal drivers being people who don't have a clue of the limits of their car)

My mum takes a corner locally at 30mph cos she sais any faster is dangerous and the car can't do it whereas my dad does the same corner in her car at 60 and thinks nothin of it knowing hes not near the limits at all.

i'll give that to my mum, she knows how to drive, shes got all the iam trophys etc.She can throw a car into corners etc, my dad being an ex traffic cop also knows how to drive, and im getting told how to drive by both of them, when she drove my clio, she said she never had so much fun for a while lol, tyres screeching, as she went round a corner from where she dropped me off, i felt so sorry for the clio!

At least you have both parents with real skills to teach you how to drive, bit of a bonus really. My mums just a really timid driver and doesn't really understand her car ie. it gets a bit of body roll goin and she thinks shes gonna crash Rolling Eyes

Having said that I don't feel as safe in anyone elses car as I do with her. I'm a nervous passenger with anyone but her driving completely puts me at ease.
