fog lights

UCC is up for its MOT this thursday, its rear fog light never worked since the day i bought the car, well i discovered broken wires in the loom which are now fixed and the rear fog is working . . . but only if the front fog light switch is also switched on.

now i seem to remember that they should work independent of each other, is this correct?
On my laguna the fog light switch is on the light stalk and the rotation of it means the front fogs come on before the rear fogs.

i really cant remember if its the same for the 19 or not, can someone check on thier 19 for me please.

Now if its the case that they are meant to work independent of each other, why is my rear fog only coming on if the front fog switch is also on?

yep they work independenlty hence the boys who have front FOX lights on all the time but the rear fog light isn't on Smile

like 99% of modern cars the rear fog only works with the headlights, if only the sidelights are on then the front fogs need to be on like that to get the rear fog working.

Mine has a switch for the rear fog which only works with the head lights on. (Check it for the trailer )

Front fogs work with there own switch and come on with the side lights.

But its French?

aye, just checked it again and yep, does the same as chris and r1916s say (doh @ me, i was only checking it with the sidelights lol)

so it works properly

sidelights on, needs front fogs on for rear fog to work
headlights on, comes on with its own switch, front fogs not needed
