Chris

The Scorpio…. Ford N3A 1998cc 16V DOHC… apparently a derivative from the RS2000 lump. Can you give me a run down on how to whip the head off? (You being Mr Henrys pal and what not....)

Mind I told you the Spannish hot weather took its toll after no one topped up the water since it was exported from the UK? Well its coming back but I need to up to speed again.

I'll show you when you fly me to spain.

Same as any other head. but you have the joys of a timing chain in there.

Dissconect exhaust, drain coolant, remove rad for acces, get the rocker cover off etc, you may need to remove the whole front plate to get to the timing chain tensioner, cannae mind on these engines cos they are crap and not many of them stay in place really.

Where you doing the job there or here? I can be flexible and travel and do it for a holiday.

Doing it there with the use of the Local Renault Garage funnyily enough (Its the only garage in the town, although I only have use only, no help apparently) as its too dusty outside to be whipping heads off.

The only reason I ask is I have never really looked at the Variable Resonance Inlet System bollocks thats strapped to the head... as in I hope its not a bugger to detatch from the head.

Hey you, enough slating of my 2000 N3A - it be a funky mofo you mofo!

Flight already booked mofo! 19th of January from Edinburgh airport this time thankfully! Alan still going to yours on Sat?

Having said that just reading that they dropped the CR from 10:3 to 9:8 (dished pist) on this for some reason

Can you explain Sodium Cooled Exhaust Valves?

its an engine same as any. The inlet manifold is just a thing bolted to the side.

The CR will have been dropped to lower the power and increaser th efual consumption cos its a grandads car.

The exhaust valves are hollow and filled with liquid sodium, this improves head transfer to the valve guides and the valve seats. Most cars have them these days, the 16V's have em.

If you cut em open and chuck em in a bucket of water you get a lot of bubbles and a nice acidic drink sop you can kill yourself when you drink.

yeah he will be, pm'd you.

How much was the light?

Aye aye, if thats a grandads car whats the 9000 then?

Rightio, will have fun invading this Renault garage anyway, see what goodies they have (probably SFA)

Ah right, cheers for the explanation. Do you often want to drink lethal acidic drinks? lol

£110 thats not to cheap! On the telly flights for 1 quid minus airport tax etc are on at the mo.

The 9000 was faster than the scorpio and lighter too. So its superior.

Yes I do enjoy a snifter of cyanide at christmas.

Wasn't faster, Scorpio hits 140. So na na na na! Razz Whats the book weight on a 9000 anyway, the Scorp is (4 door exec saloon) is 1446kg.

I am not paying for the flight plus its with BA, so I get a nice menu to choose from for my lunchtime snack on the plane and get to sit in the BA Executive lounge and eat little triangle sandwiches and drink little cans of coke while watching 24 hour news... saves sitting in departures!

Nothin beats a bit cyanide when your in the festive cheer eh?

Ohh poor you, tosser! lol Gay wee cans of coke etc, fairy!

Your not wrong, I'll pm you in a mo mofo!

lol. To be honest I really don't like flying anymore, don't feel anywhere as safe as I used to, would prefer to drive and jump on a ferry (then sink lol).
