i have filled my fuel tank today (bling) .the warning light just came on as i parked the car by the fuel pump . i filled it up untill the pump stops automatically and managed to get 2-3 more litres in . in the end i managed to but 45.53 litres of fuel
now as far as i know ,the fuel tank is 55 litres ,i can understand a couple litres always remaining in the tank (3-4litres tops) but nearly 10 litres is a lot me thinks.
would it be stupid to try and use all the fuel in the tank to see how long it will go once the light comes on while keeping a bottle of 5 litres of unleaded in the boot ? or would all the crap down the bottom of the tank start ferking up the fuel pipes,injector etc ?????? |

i did this in the clio
i got about 45 miles wen the light came on (duno if thats good or bad though)
dont know how much is in there before it flicks on.
one thing i did notice, is it stays on empty for ages, before the light dose comes on.
but then i forgot about it and ran out of petrol in the rush our :p
mentioned that in another post.
i always keep enough fule with me just incase.
£5 worth, just to get back.
depending on situation that is though. |

light comes on when theres just over 5 litres left in the tank. You could assume there 1/2 litres int he fuel lines.
You will never get the tank completely full due to air locks even with the breather bypass.
The crap so to speak at the bottom of the tank is way overexagerated, usualy its rust from the tank itself. |

a friend of mine ran out of fuel on her 2000 or 2001 merc slk ,she told me the injectors were ferked and has ben costly for her . |

she drives a merc thus has money so they will tell her the clock exploded as well to get cash from her. |
