 FUEL PUMP

gave the car a good wash with the pressure washer today also done the underneath of the car as well due to salt and crap on the roads .
i remember running the engine for 5-10 mins after the job and it was sweet as feck but now i got on the car turned the ignition on expecting the fuel pump to prime but no joy , it cranks etc but not starting up because of the fuel pump not priming or runnig at all ??????

do them pumps feck up easily ,is there a fuse to check for etc ?????

no fuse only the realy.

And yes they can just die for no apparent reason.

chgances are its the relay though, pop it out and bridge the connector.

if you have the original immob on the key the wires probably dropped off.

where is the relay to it chris ???
the immobiliser never worked so i did not bother messing with it at all

well easy job this was ,
i had a look inside the aux fuse box to see if anything is loose ,turned the ignition on and off also noticed the aux water pump was not kicking in .
anyway ,the little earth cable connected to the chassis between the water tank and the aux fuse box was feckered (rust) as soon as i fiddled with it the water pump kicked in , cleaned the bugger and put back in tightly applying some grease as well .

thats a new cable to me! someone must have fitted it before!

But then again your dash was dodgy as well! probably melted somewhere!

oh well ,it somehow affects the fuel pump and the aux water pump directly may be some other electricals as well .

i may as well consider myself well lucky as i noticed the cable by pure luck
