G'day, Guys,

Just been surfing around and noticed how many UK based Renault Clubs/Sites there actually are.

Are you a traditional 'club' so to speak off, or just an internet based entity?

I'm interested in weather you have paid members as such, and if so, how you have integrated the online members into your existing club (if there was one)

FWIW, I am the editor and webmaster for the Renault Car Club of Victoria (Oz). The club has been established since 1953 and with Renault's Return to Australia a few years back we have been trying to get newer owners to join the club (with moderate success) an we are currently thinking of expanding the Club website with a Forum and we are looking at the best way to go about it.

The Clubs Website http://www.renaultnet.org has quite a few photos from club events down under and has recently been updated, so feel free to visit.

PS - I hope this doesn't come across as one of those 'LOOK HERE, A NEW FORUM' spam style posts that other Forums I frequent recieve, but I just don't want to create any dramas for the club.

We have traditionally been a 'paper based' club, and while I feel the magazine is still an important component, the proliferation of free 'internet clubs' means we must embrace the future or face a slow extinction. (we should have done it about 10 years ago IMO)

Excellent site you have there! More Renaults now available in Australia, than when I was last out there 1997.
As BB said David is moving to Australia (West Side) soon and has a R5 16v. Good to meet new enthusiasts, and Welcome to Retro-Renault.

this has always been net based club site. It was started by Chet mainly 2/3 years ago when he and a few others like myself didn't fit in with sits such as renault sports club, to many bad bodykits and daft wee boys tbh.

Yes we pay (we all pay) for the upkeep of the site this also gives you access to the subscribers area of the site.
