for experts , this box is off a clio diesel i think but has no code , it does 100mph at 4000rpm in 5th, what is it? maybe this is the lack of power top end  |

change it for a ph1 valver box
or just find a JC5 box
and if your doing 100mph @ 4k rpm then you should be using less petrol than me as mine does 80mph @ 4k rpm |

Aye, mine also does 80mph at 4000 rpm in 5th gear
I've found that the ph1 mostly uses the JB3 051 box and the ph2 uses the JB3 053 box |

my car had a JB 3083 when i got it maybe that was also the wrong 1, im now looking for a box and some 1 to fit it for me  what jc5 codes should i look out for? |

why not if your doing 20mph quicker but using the same amount of engine speed?? |

engine loadings far higher at that speed and those revs, use more petrol. |

JC5-036 would be what you're looking for. Found in any Megane 2.0 16v or Clio Williams IIRC

and where would i get these bits? i have my old jb3083 in need of rebuild unless its useless, i seen a williams box on ebay for 350  |

yea dont bother with 'williams' stuff overpriced cause of the name
go to breakers, try scrappies for megane ph1 2L coupe box mention nothing about no williams |
