get one from, any decent places that may be able to build me a stronger box that would be able to withstand 200 bhp. I figure i may aswell get a proper decent one made now that can handle that power, as i will be pushing for that kind of power from my 19 16v.

So i just had it put it in a year and half ago and second has blown a tooth on the cog, so i need to get this sorted properly. I have been told the gearbox couldn't handle the power the car was pushing out at the time it happened!?

anyway, i need to get one and i have been qouted between £800 - £1200 for one rebuilt and fitted to the car.!? Is that alot?

been looking at the turbo kit for the 19 16v, and been told with a few other mods on top, it can get there and just over. obviously will cost a fair bit but i plan on keepin car for a long time!

if you do a search on these forums you will find a few threads on the merits of the JC5 gearbox used on the willys and meganes.
they appear to be a lot stronger box than the JB3 used on the 19's.

seriously, renault would be cheaper. cool, ill get a price from them monday.

as for 200 bhp, the turbo kit would be put on to the car, aswell gas flowed head, cams, skimmed head, and new pistons and a few little things. This is what i have been told can be done to get the car over the 200 mark, as to whether it is true or not, i am not, but according to the companies i have spoken to, this is true. If it is wrong can someone please clarify this, so i don't spend the money on a useless project.

Cheers

200bhp isnt hard to achieve with the turbo kit despite its obvious failings.

the crap manifold, the very clear lack of development.

Also don't drop the CR either, keep it stock and run low boost, this way you retain some driveability and part throttle response.

Chet ran it stock CR for a while cos I told him to, much better then some gypo thick headgasket.

Its amazing how much can be charged for utter crap it really is.
