have fun getting the mondeo apart, I always find fords an arse! Have a look in the project onion thread might give you some tips! The last page of it.

Well yesterday I got all the work done I needed to really.

The blue chamade got its new handbrake cables fitted.

I put the good one on the white chamade, seems to be doing the job.

Swapped the strut.

Washed it, its super bling when clean! lol Hoovered it out as well.

I also gave meddys clio a final flush and stuck coolant in. Hes pickign it up this afternoon.

Gave bens another flush but its still going brown after a few minutes running.

I ordered a new set of points and condensor for project Y as it decided to break down on us.

It ran then started to strutter then struggled to stay running.

Plugging in the timing light showed that the ignition was dissapearing for seconds at a time.

So they will be in later on today.

So you've not got much to do till later?

Ford have got a funny way of conecting their struts to the hub carrier, don't you think?

Or are renaults just differant to everyone else?

ok it was inevitable, I'm stuck!

The bolt holding the bottom ball joint to the hub won't budge. I've undone the nut on the other side but it won't move an inch. The bolt is a female torx so I can't get a normal bolt over it.

I thought about undoing the joint from the bottom bolts but there arnt any, just 3 round lumps. How do I undo them?

I assume you mean the lower balljoint? Its riveted to the arm. Theres a pinch bolt though that goes between the that and the hub. undo that then remove the strut along with it.

yea the pinch bolt won't come out, I've got the nut off the other end but I can't get it out. Thats stopping me taking the hub off, everything else is off just that 1 bolt.

Can you just hit it out or do they have to screw out?
