how do i get the hand brake cable out of the rear calipers ? ive pulled the little nipple off the lever but its goes through the locating hole on the back of the caliper and its right stuck in there any tips on getting that out ????

turns out one of the new disks was cracked during the whole loss of brake thing so ive had the bearing pressed out of that and into a new disk from ktec so ive got new calipers new disks 'again' and new pads and ive got the rear brake lines out but heeh lets just say ther aint much nut left on them hehe and im gunna use mole grips to put them back in the new calipers lol .. getting there ...............

break the caliper then. It will then be unsuitable for exchange though.

or hacksaw through the cable so you can get a good punch onto it but still expect the caliper to break.

the trailing arm Richard.

Cables cheap, get a new one.

77 00 817 136 CABLE H/BRAKE 18.54

thats rens price and part number. Get it cheaper from a factors etc.

But if the caliper not the prob then hit it with a hammer, it will break away.

Its easy to change, tie string to the old 1 when you pull it out, or if it comes out with no tring a bit of wire poked through does it.

im currently junior hacksawing my way through the rear calipers hehe

almost out on one side cables bit knackered though hopefully gunna fit it all tommorow morning then get al the brakes bleed up and hopefullly the cable works if it dont then at least all the brakes and disks are on and all i gotta change is the cable
