Head Gasket done - i think

Pretty much finished the headgasket change now, bar a few odds and ends. Just a quick query. When i rev the car now and back off, the idle seems to dip before recovering. I seem to remember this is a common thing?

Isn't that just normal on all of them?? have one car here and had 4 on my hands lately and they all do that! rev -> drop to about 600-700rpm and then quickly rise back to about 900-1100rpm depending on which car it was

it might be common but no it shouldn't happen.

Idle control valve activation isn't happening quick enough.

Make sure you ain't trapped a wire or anything

again (and my car has always done this) if when idling it occasionally 'blips' is that the ICV aswell?

nope, it will idle fine then it will stumble for no reason, they all do it, I have yet to find out why, but its liek the ignition cuts out for a split second

exactly my problem- i was sneaking a listen at a random renault the other day when it pulled up next to me and yup it made the same noise!

Right, finished completley (I hope) Anyway, Is there any sort of running in I should be aware of? Taking it easy for a few miles etc..?

if you have done it right you can go give it death
