Can anyone point to a common fault here, The chamade valver I picked up a couple of months ago had a fault on the heater blower. The previous owner had the blower wired to the ignition so you get full power as soon as you turn the key.

All the heater controls work, except you cant turn it down or off.

Gotta get it sorted now as its getting on my nerves!

Although I am hopefully off to look at a nicelooking Ph2 chamade this week, on ebay for £750 (wont sell) then I get it for a bargin price!

Looks easy enough! We will have to wait and see. I think I will tackle it tomorrow.

Thanks.

Not to topic but whilst we're on the subject of heaters and blowers can anyone tell me if a 19 existed with an air "Recirc" option? I only ask as the plate is there for the option to be installed in the passenger bulkhead but i've yet to see a heater control panel from a 19 with a Recirc button in situ?

Cheers,

Mick

Right tackled the rheostat not too difficult. Found it had been bypassed and fan blowing full power. Replaced rheostat with a new item from reno, blower not working.

Then decided to fix interior clock (I needed some sucess) which is now working.....................................................................but

now the fuel comp buggered up?

any ideas

nothing, there was the reno key activated immob in the glovebox but that is long gone.

Comp is displaying somethings, fuel (wrong reading) and some random numbers not the usual displays. It was working fine so could just be a loose connection that I have disturbed. Where are the bulk of the connections/fuses etc for the comp that i could check

Did you reset the computer when you re-connected the battery?

I made that mistake on mine.

yep try re-setting it. The plugs are into the back of the display itself

If the comp had been reset would it not just show everything as zero except fuel gauge?

I will try doing manual reset and give it a drive see if that does it.

don't know.

However when I did mine it sorted the problem.

I don't see how it would cause a problem anyway if it did reset to zero as the mileage isnt part of the computer and all the other things covered by the computer are general trip and heat displays.

Sometimes the answer can just be too simple. Reset computer and all working fine displaying proper figures again.

Dont know about heater blower though. If it worked with the rheostat bypassed maybe its the connection block that has a problem.

take the heater control panel out and chances are you will find its a melted mess when you unplug the plug, if not check the fuses, in fact do that first

according to the users manual from renault ,the alarm, electric mirrors, digi clock and trip computer are connected to the same fuse . none of the 3 work on my car at the moment ,sounds like a fuse problem .check the fuse box

Theres my fuel comp problem then, I pulled the fuse with the clock symbol out to check when sorting the digi clock out - hense the fuel comp reset.
