Got my head back yesterday, skimmed and pressure tested. Its has new valve seals and the valve reground in. Put the head back on, along with the cam belt and did a compression test.

First 2 cylinders were about 190-200, 3rd was about 160-70 and the 4th was 80, on the first test cyl for got 0, but i re did it and it got 80. Do the valves and stuff need time to settle in or what? I'd have said 1&2 were high, 3 was right and 4 was low.

Just had some obvious thoughts....the engine hasnt been running yet since the head was put on and hasnt been up to temp...thats gonna affect the readings considerably, right?

Edit, been told it could be becuase the throttle was closed when doing it. I remember chris h saying it should be open. shouldnt affect it to that extent?

full throttle and if its not been run/cranked over much then the tappets ain't gonna be filled with oil so they ain't gonna open as much.

Retested it this morning, it read just shy of 200 just like cyl's 1 and 2, i think it was just me over reacting and worrying like hell.

hmm lol!

get the fucking thing out of there and be done with it....i would have just chucked that head on straight away without farting round with it...u wud have been to york and back by now with a nice new chammy...
