Curious to see if they were worth having a look at or buying.

yes it will get you gains but how much is it? 3/400?

You also need new rockers to go with it tbh which are silly money.

Not sure just wanted to know if there anygood really.

Why is there a need for new rockers? I remember you saying they were a stupid price. Sad

I could allways get mine 're-profiled', but then that might be more and still require the rockers?

they wear, I have not finished checking but the diet 1.2 has roller rockers and the system is the same visually as the 1.4 energies.

You will never get valvder power from it though.

Not really fussed about getting 16v power tbh. I know I wont ever get it, just like to make the 1.4 a bit quicker really. If I wanted lots more i'd get another, larger engined car, but for the moment the 1.4 is fine really.

At my age insurance is a piss take so keeping the 1.4 is a must really though i'd like to have something quicker it's not going to happen.

I will wait till I am 19/20 for a bigger engined car I think.

Any other ways of getting that little bit more from it? I still havent found that fecking 1.8 SPI throttle housing Rolling Eyes

What about CatCams?

I've found the E7J/E6J 1400cc on there. I see you are going to use one for the head your porting at the mo.

That 1.2 catcam of mine was only 290quid (inc vat + delivery) so reasonable a price. Quality wise, i think BenR gets catcams to make his customs 16v cams so quite good...

fook! I emailed them and they wanted £190 for one for me Shocked

They do two. One will need a remap to gain the best from it and one is fine to use with standard ECU.

not sure yet though.

Why does the other need a remap?

Is it extreme?

Probably be good to get a remap what with your gas flowed head mate.

I am just waiting to hear back from a friend whos garage does remaps etc.

What happened to gettin a 16v in January?

By the time you've finished messing around with your 1.4 you could have bought and insured a tidy 16v!

I got my first 16v when I was just turned 19 - insurance was £500 in my own name Smile

ECU on a 1.4 does very little...doubt you 'need' a remap TBH.

As for you getting yours for 190...thats cheap unless its a regrind? Odd...

Well the 16v's that I was looking at were all sold and I am not fussed really.

I was also put off the 16v by the reliability factor, which is a shame as I was going to get one and they seem nice cars Sad

Damn you I want one now argh! Twisted Evil

I am going to keep the 1.4 till I am 20 then get something really nice. Wink

What do you think I will get from the 19 with the ported head/IK/de-cat/cam?

Just out of interest.

And once you've told your insurance about all those mods, it's gonna cost a fair bit...
