I had thought of doin this with my 19 cos it'd be fairly handy with the air filter comin off the turbo, as it is the filter sits just under the coil against the bulkhead

One thing that concerns me tho...surely at speed on the road the air passing over the top of the bonnet is going to cause a vacuum?

actually Chet my good man, and I should mention here the new post gold diamonds ain't working, the area in front of the windscreen is actually reasonably high pressure.

Example, heater bolwer fan off, vents open and doing 70mph, get quite a draught through dontcha.

Theres other ways and I am exhausting them.

The best of course involves chopping the bonnet, but thats drastic.

They're workin for me ( the new post pics)

You see my reasoning behind the post tho? Reminds me of the airvent thread on RSC many moons ago lol

yeah they work now for me too.

yes I see your reasoning, an effectively sealed chamber in front of the scrfeen in which theres about 2 inches for air to go in.

Seems like it wouldn't work, but as theres an area of high pressure there it does, its like those cars with the vent in the bonnet thats dip down at the front, theres 2 types of these, near the front for an exhaust for the radiator and the ones yup where a scooby scoop would sit for air intake.

Theres lots of aerodynamic and air intake things I am working on.

Mainly for fuel economy granted but these help top speed and handling to if done right.

Thought about Naca ducts a few times for various things.

Extra vents aren't my thing, infact i'm gettin rid of the standard one shortly.

I wonder if theres any subtle way to suck hot air away from the turbo, i'll have to have a wee peep

same here, extra ventsd ain't my thing.

I like the ph1 vent but its a pain in the arse.

The plug thingy that says F16 i.e on mine is cracked from my rainshield catching it, the cover was new when I got the car though.

As for the turbo if you get the manifold sorted out then get exhaust wrap on it. Manifold and the downpipe. Might even improve pick up.

Problem everyone forgets when air or liquid is concenred for it to move it has to go somewhere, you can make all the inlets you want but if it can't exhaust then air flow stalls.

Thats why I am having trouble with my projects.
