for a fuel filter? easy - depressurise the system (remove fuse to pump and turn engine over) , clamp off the fuel hose using line clamps (i used brake hose clamps) and then whip the old one out and fit the new one, making sure its pointing in the right direction (of fuel flow).
the filter is under the car, roughly about halfway down. |

underneath, on the drivers side in front of the back axle. 10mm bolt holds the clamp. undo it.
wriggle filter free, undo the jubilee clips, (get new ones as they are always knackered, might need hacksawed off if really rusty.
stick in new one tighten clips fit into bracket one you go.
Its best to do it after the car has stood for a while to minimise pressure in the system. Or you could crak it over with the fuel pump relay removed to get rid of pressure |

Changed me dizzy cap & rotor arm in an effort to solve the "why does my car seem to be getting slower??" problem. And just look at the state of my old one. I was quite amazed by this......I dunno does this look normal or not, but look at the pics below..........HOW did my car run on the old dizzy cap?!?! Where have the bloody contacts gone!?! The end of the rotor arm was also fecked up the arse, so I REALLY don't know how it was sparkin at all. Amazing.
Anyway, fitted it. Slight improvement to before, but still feels like there's something holding the car back. Gonna try fiel filter next, and also cleaning the meshy thing on the end of the fuel pump. |

Seriously? Look at the length of contacts that have gone though? Unless they were never there in the first place? I dunno. No this is a k-tec job lol. Probably the same as a halfords one tho! |

they are machined back into the cap, tyher new one is the poorer design.

So you're sayin the new one I've got is a worse design? Only k-tec cuz of the simplicity. I know I'm gettin the right bit, and can order online easily. My halfords here is about 25 mins away and I ain't got time to go there after work, and their website seems like a rather large shite to be honest. Never tried very hard to order stuff on there before, cuz I've got bored of trying to actually find anything. |
