as title Laughing

had a quick play Rolling Eyes with it (mk1 clio) and it seems not to be threaded, it carried on turning, felt like it was on splines, obviously its not but it turned with little movements.

So how does it come off

sorry for a dumb question

I cut it open with a knife Razz then you'll be left with a plastic cap you can remove with the knife or a saw too

Mine unscrewed.......eventually!
Needed to use a huge adjustable spanner though, it finally cracked off Smile

Use hack saw to split the grip open, then it should just pull off in two halves. Underneath that there's a beige end cap on it which you need to hack saw off. It can be quite troublesome (was on mine) but once it's off you're just left with the metal shaft and a new knob can be screwed on pretty easily.

It's so easy.....even I did it. Now that's better than a Haynes spanner rating any day!
