Hi guys,
I'm the (once) proud owner of a 1996 2.2 litre safrane exec 12v.
Recently after a head gasket change I was unfortunate enough to have the cam sprocket strip and bent all four exhaust valves.
A replacement head was obtained and bolted back in place but while running ok at speed the idle has gone to crap and fuel comsumption has increased.

So far I've replaced the EGR valve and a number of other sensors but no change.

Strangely if I remove the breather pipe that goes from the inlet manifold to the cam cover the idle is much smoother but runs at about 1100 revs.

Any ideas gratefully appreciated.

Thanks
Runner.

generally a crap idle and bad fuel consumption lead to coolant temp sensor, and/or lambda sensor.

I await correction if i am wrong.

if you just placed the new head one without swappign the senders over then this is a good place to start.
