well, did my water pump today so that is one leak sorted, my PAS rack has not turned up yet so not done that yet.

water pump was fairly easy to swap out, easier than i had thought tbh, it just takes time because of the placement of all those 11mm bolts and the fact that when you have the pully unbolted, u still cant remove it totally from the car cos the gap aint big enough, it merely lets you move it around to access a few of the bolts easier.

not done the thermostat thou as managed to get two of the torx head bolts free but the 3rd was in there solid, it even started to twist the torx head attachment on my ratchet and managed to give myself another job in the process cos when removing the ICV, one of those bolts sheered off so its held on by the one at the mo until i can be arsed to drill out the bolt.

still got loads of air in the system even after giving it a good flush thru, top up and bleed. guess i will try to bleed some more air off tomorrow.

did you have the remains of the old water pump gasket stuck to the block?

I did. It was kind of like very hard plastic, and it would not shift for anything short of a very sharp chisel bit by bit. That's what made it a very tiresome and irritating task on mine.

nope, the old gasket came off in two pieces, half stuck to the pump and the other half just fell off, had a tiny bit stuck on the block which came off with a quick scrape from a screwdriver.
