Does anyone have a power cap on their install? how good are these babies?

Are they the things with the digital number display thing? Displaying the amp/volts?

this has been a major argument wether u need one or not all over the globe! personnaly i wouldnt get one unless u do DB drag. ok if you have one big bass note, the power cap is stored up with energy and that is used for that bass note. now what happens? the amp still needs power to keep playing music and now the power cap is drained it'll need charging up again, so now your electrical system is trying to run your subs and charge the cap at the same time. If you have dimming problems best bet is to firstly do the 'big three' this is where beefier cables are fitted, from the alternator to the batt, and any earthing cables. and get a decent battery. if you have a big system them maybe incorporate a split charge system

ive one on mine, seems ok, headlihs don dim anymore, sorry, need a workin keyoard!

i think power caps are good if your running more than 3 amps of a reletivly high wattage, best thing to is what derv said get yourself a 096 battery or equivelent decent cables and you should be fine
