hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, not impressed.

I think to myself since I won't be sticking the 16V in I shoudl sort out the beasts 1.4 lump.

Main prob is lack of performance and difficulty starting.

Since th eplugs have been in since jan 03 they have done a good 30k. I have meant to change them for ages, but never got round to it. So do it today, nice new NGK's.

So pull of number 4 magnecor KV85 HT lead, whats this the lead comes off but the terminal doesn't not impressed.

head off to halfords where I bought them. The boy fucked the lead even more by pulling the boot off the cable whilst he was in the back and now they no longer deal with magnecor.

So I have to phone them myself. Trouble is now they will think i pulled the wire itself which I didn't. So I may not be able to get a new one. Arse.

Already had to get a new lead from them when it was a week old, still I bought them cos they are the best and they have a 10 year warrenty.

Anyway get the plugs out and they are well overdue for a change, rounded electrodes and a big gap but healthish in colour.

It styarts a bit better and pulls better.

Got a very nasty ticking from number 1 cylinder. Had it for a while but its more noticable now. Maybe the 200k miles has taken its toll, maybe my 8 grand revving bouts have done it, who knows.

Will need to go for a proper test drive to see if I can get it to 6k in 5th once again.

Pah your losing your touch, if the boy broke it more I would be demanding a new set of the best they had or have words with the manager.

You just stuck in a OE black one instead?

Well if they don't send you one for free would you be able to buy just the one or would the bastards force you to buy a new set?

aye 16V lumps going in, just not just now. need a hoist as I want it done right, this whole subframe swap then not gettign th esubframe bang in place so the cars all over th eshop isn't worth it.

i also want to overhaul and clean everythign and paint it so no more rust.
