take the receiver off and make sure its not soaked in water. Cleaning it up can help but normally you need a nw one. Its £30 from renault for a new receiver.

As far as i'm aware, the imob is a CAT 2 device on the Meganes which is hard wired in to the Fusebox/UBic and cannot be bypased.

If it's working in your mates car then that would suggest to me a problem with the wiring.

Someone will no doubt correct me on this!

sorry lindsey you were wrong.had car over to renault today and they checked it out.they told me the keys are faulty and wanted £220 for new ones which i would have to wait 10 days on. i told them no way i was paying that and came home with car still the same. i have found someone who repairs these keys for £15,if they cannot be repaired you get your money back,so looks like i will be going down this route. Sad

forgot to ask if anyone knows can any unused remote be coded to car or does it have to be a renault one. also can i use my four digit code to programme a unused remote or does this have to be done by renault.

I'm looking at this on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=75329&item=7983647473&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

I'm thinking about an alarm but this one can work the central locking too! Cool

wtf the remotes have an extendable aerial on that. How long till that breaks off? not very!

Why exactly do you want to operate the alarm from a greater distance exactly anyway? I would have said its better to have quite a limited range on it actually.

Hi, I got one of these alarms. Opened the box and shit myself Shocked . Too many wires for me, so I put it back in the box. The instructions seemed to me to be a bit conflicting and it was only a photocopy.

If your good at auto electrics then I am sure you wont be phased Confused

Not much phases me Very Happy As for the extendable aerial, I'm sure if I'm careful (and don't let the kids get they're grubby little mitts on it) it will survive!

It's got that car finder facility which is handy for someone who keeps forgetting where they parked their car Embarassed and it's not so much activating/deactivating the alarm (I don't have one at all yet) it's being able to open the central locking without having to get the angle just right like I do now ie. from in front of the car would be nice!

But look lindsey, its got 'his and hers' remotes, differently coloured.

Dont you find that sexist and offensive?
