Well my Punto is knackered Twisted Evil all the floor needs welding its leaking petrol, the engine is leaking oil, a suspension leg is buggered.

There are 10 welding items (sills seat belt anchorages and floor pan)
Suspension leg excessive play
Brake pipes corroded
HB Knackered
Leaking fuel
Engine leaking oil (but think it's just the sump)

The MOT tester said if I had a crash in it the seats would just fall out as it was so rotten Confused and he has put on the forsm that in his opinion it is dangerous to drive Sad

****!

Anyone want to hazard a guess at repair costs?

Answers on a postcard please Rolling Eyes

welding is charged about £50 p/h and that amount of welding, is atleast 6hours.

IMHO its going to be atleast £700 worth.

The car in perfect condition taxed and tested is prolly worth £500-600 tops IMO.

Scap it! Or break it and sell it on eBay, the engines good and the geabox (6 speed) coloured bumpers with front fogs and coloured wing mirrors. Mybe they would sell?

Chris, no I 'didn't notice' these things, especially not the rotted sills or the brake hoses. I thought I could smell petrol and it wasn't leaking at the time -but it is now, it's just getting worse Crying or Very sad

Yeah I took it somewhere else today to check all the items. He said he never seen a Punto coroded so badly undeneath. Not only that but someone had welded plates on from the inside but not cut out the rotten bit underneath Question Rolling Eyes so all the underneath is fooked. The side of the car underneath isn't attached to anything IYKWIM

He did make it out to be a death trap but 4 othe people have looked at it and said the same. At least £500 to put right Crying or Very sad 4/500 for the welding alone, so not inluding bake pipes, fuel leak and the suspension o the handbake issue.

lol, it's a red beast. There is nothing wrong with the body work of the car. it's all galvanised so on the body there isn't one spot of rust on it - until you look undeneath Laughing
