Well I am sooooo damn lazy I never wash the car at home using bucket and sponge.

What's your opinions on garage jet washes?

I find the best are Tesco and Jet garages.

I like to spend a free afternoon giving my car the full works myself - this normally includes a good washing/rinsing/drying followed by a clean of the windows, exhaust and alloys and a good polish of the bodywork. Then I go inside, hoover out all the crap, sort out my CD collection/glovebox and finally use a good quality leather feed on the seats to keep them pristine:

Much more satisfying than being robbed off 3 or 4 quid to use a machine that at best does a mediocre job, although I will admit to occassionally using the local car wash when pressed for time!

I used a hand wash place in Halifax tho other week. Cost £5, but it was clean.

I'd wash it myself but I dont have a hose.
