Hi Guys, This is my first post to this site. I have read the Knowledge base article on this topic as well as all the other queries. I still have a problem.
I have a M reg (1995) Laguna which definately has an immobiliser which i cannot disable. There is no LED on the central locking button (contrary to what someone has said in another post) . I obtained two numbers for the code and entered them via the button on the end of the wiper stalk. This did not work.

1) After entering your last number by this method what is the next step
2) If car battery is weak how does this affect the immobiliser
3)If you change the reciever by the mirror, must you also change part of the key

Cheers for any help forthcoming.

1) it should start
2) depends how weak
3) this is only app to older cars like yours which don't have a rolling code, so if the key matches it should plip and go.

Have to say boy next door had an m plate 1.8 lag and his key didn't work but the car coudl still be driven etc.

Cheers for your reply. Can i just confim what the reasons might be for it not working are:

1) Wrong Code
2) Key not working
3)Ring Reciever not working

The LED on the key still glows. Inside the key i have noticed a small crack on the metal spring which the two batteries rest on. Could this be the cause?

Thanks for any help.

there is no reciver ring, thats only on the later transponder keys.

if the central lockign isn;t plipping then the immob isn;t going off basically.

go get another key and receiver.

I take it you are definately getting the angle right when plipping? Mine can be a pain to get the right angle sometimes.

Thanks for answering guys. I tried every which way with the plip. Can you tell us if this guy on Ebay offering to repair the keys is any good.
Thanks!!

Hi Guys,
I got the car going this afternoon. The code i had previously was obtained by someone i knew. It turns out it was the wrong code. I went direct to Renault and they gave me two numbers. The first on worked and turned on the immobiliser. I have no plip for the central locking with this and have to open it manually.

I haven't tried the second number because i am wary of messing it up. Is the second number likely to activate the central locking system. If not how do i get this going.

By the way Renault charged me £17.50 for the code. I could have kicked up a stink but i was not in the mood.

Thanks for your help so far.
