Anyone know how to get the bloody bonnet up on these when the bonnet release cable has snapped ?

car is a 2000 laguna rt ph1 and i've tried every trick i know.
the cable has snapped in a right bummer of a place too, right at the bulkhead so the part of the cable attached to the bonnet release is somewhere in the engine bay.

I can't quite remember, but are there two hooks to be released?

I think the cable goes across the front of the car then along the left side of the engine bay (as seen from the drivers seat) at the top, then dips down as it goes though the bulkhead?

Not sure about this.

I have a smashed one and had a look there.
The cable is tucked in all the way along the wing, and along the bulkhead. The only place to get to it is just before it enters the bulkhead. This is in the centre, at the top.

The car needs to be over a pit or on a lift to reach it. Phone a lanky friend and he may be able to reach the cable with a pair of vice grips.
Reach up to the left of the downpipe, or just behind the gearbox and it is a hard, thin black cable.

The cable I have is still attached at the drivers end. If the Renault one is a rip off and the drivers end is easy to take off, let me know.
