Few questions:

1. The motor that adjusts the light beam up and down (on RHS of steering column), does it move the whole head light assembly, or just the bulb?

2. Would a spot-lamp be an acceptable means of a headlamp (with the correct bulb obviously (i.e. full beam and low beam-halogen?))?

cheers

1. the inside of the headlight moves with the bulb in

2. No, wrong beam pattern, too low to be legal and countless other reasons

1. It move the backing that the bulb sits in.

2. no unless you remove the existing headlights and weld in suitable brackets, like a mini wing or mini headlamp bowl repair panel

1. ok cheers

2. fitting brakcets (or making it fit in other words) isn't really a problem. i was a tad concerned about the beam pattern though. Spot-lamp reflective backing shouldnt be that dis-similar to that of say a Mini headlamp, or a Land Rover headlamp though?
