ayee ,its only because i have a spare car now and i can do work on the other without worrying i will cock up . before that i would not risk to do the bigger jobs .
now all i need is to put the 16v on the road and then i can start tidying up the black rt

right then so obviously the shocks wont make fook all difference to the ride height ie wonkyness. I can prob source a torsion bar cheap if needed but have never even looked at the thing so how easy is it to change?

As chris said opposing spring i got confzzled ride is a bit rough but I assumed that was just shitty Sussex roads and relatively sporty/old car.

Really need to get a trolley jack n get under there proper like n see whats what.

why are you bothered? like I said from ther factory the allowable difference was an inch per side

Yeah I guess you're right. I'm not really that bothered, more like paranoid. I've done so much to it in so little time I'm just waiting for the next thing. Anyway the more I know the more i can fix when it undoubtedly does go wrong.

The other gearbox mount is on the way out but at least I know how to change it now.
