Iv just changed the head gasket, clutch and timming belt on my 19 16v but now the engine is back in place the oil pressure seems to be sitting at the ninimum mark on the gauge, it sits there even when i rev the car, the car is still sitting on axle stands at the moment awaiting a few parts, would the pressure rise once the cars is on the road

cheers

autodata says 10w30 in a moderate climate, with the cold weather we are having at the moment i thought it would be best for cold starts

I take it the 16v's have an oil pressure gauge then as opposed to other 19s that have an oil level gauge?

Thanks for that Info there, i never knew that.

My oil pressure does not work but im sure Chris H says its a common fault and it might have something to do with a Pin or Sensor

Could this perhaps answer Trancer's original query?

it will either be the sender or more likely the wiring, purple wire, thees also a connecotr for this wire in the loom in line with the bellhousing which can corrode which means pullign the loom apart.

Chances are the spade on the sender is loose.

I agree with bb! the amount of times "my oil lights on why?" and there being no oil in it have gone beyond the amoutn of hot dinners I have had.

Same with fuel

Just taken the car out for a spin and the oil pressure problem has sorted itself out, running nice now, its reads around the 3/4 mark on the oil pressure guage at 3k revs
