im always sceptical of cheap brake discs, but when you're on a budget........, so i guess its a case of waiting to see if they hold up well

i have bedix on my 19 16v. never had problems getting parts. dont be put of by it. the thing thats wrong with the bendix setup is the ABS can be poo and i known to not always work as it should.

i have never had problems with the rest of the system

yep, i heard the same, i have already replaced the ABS part once, with a secondhand one, as renault wanted an astronomical price for it. i am thinking ofm changing it, but was hoping someone on here who has done it can seriously give me a hand and replace it as its the brakes, its not something i really want to mess about with. to be honest with you i dont think its that hard to remove the ABS and convert to non ABS. its just a case of removing the ABS equipment, then changing the pedal box, master cylinder chris H replaced the front brake pipes and lengthened the rear ones, then change the fluid tank to non ABS one. thing it fairly easy just fiddly plus you need to be able to sort the brake pipes out. probably missed something out but think thats most of it.

if my ABS breaks and its more than a sensor then i will be probably taking the ABS off

get rid of it. In fairness, ABS can be a lifesaver, but swapping to the Bosch setup would be major arseache, and not worth it.

tbh lack of impact protection, airbags, all the other safety stuff, traction control, ABS, lightened steering, aircon and so on is what makes late 80s/early 90s hot hatches so raw and fun. Just a light shell and a good engine with all the heavy extra crap and mod cons left off Very Happy

That's where modern cars fall down in comparison IMO.

i spose, but then, ABS is really the only safety feature on it, apart from my gut, lol

Bendix ABS is not a safety feature, it's a liability.
