Oh has that come in already?

How computerised is it? Do they just keep a record on the central database or is it like ours when all the testing equipment is hooked up too?

all stations have been active since february. it was introduced last year around april, now all stations are hooked up.

Any non computerised mot is not real.

they log in, enter details, or the old test number the details come up, or as is the case still they need to enter in the fields.

The brake tester and emmisiosn are direct link.

With NCT cars are booked in every 15mins, if you're 10 mins late they can't take you in and you pay 27 quid for the priviledge Laughing

bikes are the same as well 45 mins for the test last year it was £14 now its £23 and like you can even spend 45minutes mot'in a bike its all a big joke most cars wont take 45minute as it stands

mot stations dont like it as they loose a bit of trade but as the price is higher i guess thas how they work it out getting it back, and now the even want to do a super mot for moddified cars, like most moddified cars are more safer than prody cars ie; bigger brakes, four point seatbelts, uprated suspension, roll cages should all ad to the safty factor but no

4 point harnesses kill more than they save in 90% of road cars cos they are not fitted right.

i understand all that but why a super mot? f they had been fitted by a pro a certified that should do but nope you still need the orignals fitted by mot time

belgum is worse you have to put the hole car back to standard no matter how modified it is

There are still ways around the new system that I am sure will become apparent, if your car fails an MOT now, you have to pay for a retest! but the test is still mostly human and there are ways and means

Quote:
The car test fee is €49.00 and a re-test costs €27.50 (both fees are inclusive of VAT and maybe subject to change). Re-tests, which do not require the use of test equipment, will be free. Free re-tests cover minor items, for example, a visual inspection to check that faulty windscreen wipers have been replaced.
