 MOT Failure

ok, the td went for it's MOT today, the first 3 things I can do but this lot below is not stuff I have have a clue about:

Test Items that failed

4) Front both anti-roll bar linkage has excessive play in a pin/bush
5) Both CV joints excessively worn

Advisory Items

6) Coolant leaking
7) Engine/gearbox mounting(s) defective
Cool Oil leak
9) Centre rear lower gearbox mount bushes worn to excess resulting in excessive vehicle wander at all speeds

How much will this lot cost?

Is it worth fixing?

Doent sound too expensive and sounds like for MOT only first 2 need doing immediatly, as the others are only advisory?

Get the first two done MOT it

Shouldn't I get the Engine and gearbox mounts done at the same time as well?

all I can say it wtf?

arb bush, it will be the outers that are worn, easy cheap fix.

how are the CV's worn?

coolant leak, fix it

how are they defective?

fix the oil leak

i assume this means the dog bone ont eh td's but how the feck can this cause vehicle wander?

do they wear cowboy hats at this place?

I checked the CV boots recently and they didn't seem split so I don't see how thet could fail. But when i'm turning I do hear loads of crunching (god knows what it is)

well if it crunches then the shafts probably are fooked and have to much play in them.

Just looking through the Haynes Manual now and just wondering how easy it would be for me to change the dog bone. Is it as accesable as Haynes makes out?

Right, been down to the garage today to get this priced up, was told the driveshafts are fecked and to replace them and the anti roll bushes will cost £275.

Expensive?

ok, been onto GSF and can see drive shafts are £30-£40 a piece. How much should a garage charge me to put these on? Will they even do that for me?

well i was going to suggest bringing it over to me and i'll do it, just its a bit risky with no MOT.

Thinking about it, your allowed to drive the car to a pre booked MOT and a place of repair.

Thats true, but isn't it taking the p*ss a bit going across the severn bridge? lol Got to be honest, dont know if it would make it, with the condition it's in. I might just oreder the parts off GSF and take it local to get fixed.
