These are Thatcham Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre manuals for bodywork repairs and contains information on for example

Corrosion Protection:

Cavity Wax - Aerosol - 77 01 417 410
Cavity Wax - Container - 77 01 406 303
Aluminium Paint - Aerosol - Mig Welding Primer - 77 01 418 199
Zinc Paint - Aerosol - Resistance Spot Welding Primer - 77 01 406 425
Anti Gravel Mastic - Stone Chip Primer - 77 01 421 122

and it shows the points on the chassis and body parts etc where the cavity wax etc is inserted

Windscreen repair kits which include the sealer and spacers, suspension turret re-enforcement, everything you need to know about removing a body panel and where to weld in the new panels etc, very interesting stuff and i got those 4 manuals for £1.00 Smile £2.99 with postage.
Well chuffed with this purchase Smile

look at the rear arches where the inner and outer skin are bonded.

On every one I hva came across theres a spot at the bottom then theres anothe rspout right at the top of the arch and sealant used to seal the rest of it. Is this hows its meant to be?

According to the manual there is meant to be 5 resistance spot welds, 2 of those at the rear and the other 3 are at the leading edge of the arch, none at the top of the arch. The rest is sealed with metal to metal adhesive and joint sealer

The manual then goes on to recomend when replacing the panel to seal the insides with cavity wax then to use a row of resistance spot welds along the whole length of the arch finishing off with a joint sealant.

took long enough to scan the promo postcards for the ph2 and get them uploaded (which chet still has not added to the gallery yet)

imagine scanning 60 pages then uploading them to an image host, then getting chet to post them . .
