I don't like cabriolets but I am not sure which I prefer the megane or the ph2 19.

Probably the megane back but the 19's nose.

it looks in decent nick anyway, nice car that way.

The amount of money they go for is silly though.

it cost me £3,200 with brand new roof, 12 months warranty etc from a dealer so weren't too bad
they do hold their value,
i've seen similar going for £3000 still!
i like cabriolets and they are not as common as the likes of the escorts golfs etc

ouch! Lot of cash, but I suppose its notmuch if it makes you happy and you can sell it on for nearly the same.

I wasn't too fond of convertibles in the first place. hell, why would you remove the thing that stabilizes the car the most in the first place???
but then a mate (the one I do renault19world.de with) bought one for his girlfriend. it was white, had the F3P single point engine at first, but got heavily modded. a revised 16v was implanted and the car totally resprayed. here's a pic of it:

I don't like some of the mods (esp. color, front bumper, longer hood) as I prefer my cars standard but the engine is sweet. one thing though, it is a 4-seater and I had a go in the backseat last weekend. I'm not exactly small at 1.95m so every speed above 50kph is hard to bear.
they normally use this car as a two seater with the wind-breaker behind the front seats. keeps the wind out of the cockpit.
my favourite is a nice and clean ph.I 16v convertible though Smile

btw, the two major cabrio markets in Europe are the UK and Germany - both not exactly known for great weather. go figure Wink
