Work and play/fighting/ridicule/abuse are totally seperate, we ain't 12 year olds taking the huff these days surely.
When you get older you can go batter each other then 5 minutes later get back to work with each other!
The energy is a great lump.
I mind driving mine back from blackpool in the red for 200 miles, managed to maintain 120 most of the way. Also used to hit 8.5 krpm and it done 206k miles and is unworn!
No way a 16V will take that abuse. |

its the usual
cos its a 1.8 16v its bigger and more powerful so MUST be better.
my 147k energy engine is the best engine ive had..
sure its not the best performing..but still the strongest. |

That's cool then, just let us know if a decent one comes your way, but like you said you are busy so don't got out looking for one.
Mine had a full service history till 100k, it's now on 120k and it's burning oil and feeling generally sluggish (despite having all the service parts routiinely put on) must just be my bad luck.
Is it strong because there is little power going through it though? I am always reminded of how weak the 16v gearbox is...
How does a 1.8Rsi hold up? Got offered one with all the gubbins for £200.. probably a rip but how are they reliability wise (it had FSH) |

rsi is ok but tbh you can get a 16V engine for 200 and you will always be pissed you never went for it.
The 16v is faster noticeably so. |
